Concurrent Scientific Session (Genomics, Imaging, Spectrometry, Core Administration): ABRF AND FASEB – A VALUED PARTNERSHIP
FASEB 2019: Current Topics in Science Advocacy and Policy
The mission of the Federation of American Scientists and Experimental Biologists (FASEB) is to advance health and well-being by promoting research and education in biological and biomedical sciences through collaborative advocacy and service to our 29 member societies and their 130,000 members worldwide. FASEB focuses on policy issues important to and affecting biomedical researchers and their work. At FASEB, policy development begins with the working scientists representing and reflects the views of a broad cross-section of the research community. Our top priority is urging Congress to provide sustainable and predictable federal funding for scientific research. Additionally, FASEB advocacy and policy efforts extend to important areas relating to how we perform our research. This presentation will provide an overview of recent FASEB policy and advocacy efforts and other topics affecting our members and their societies.
