Concurrent Scientific Session (Core Administration): Equipment Grants: It's All in the Details

Equipment Grants: It's All in the Details

Many first time instrumentation grant submitters underestimate the time it takes to assemble all of the necessary sections of the grant, including the required biosketches, other support, summary tables, and instrument organization and management plan. The administrative burden of the instrumentation granting mechanism is significant. This session brings together two seasoned instrument grant writers to discuss both perspectives of the application – the submission and the review process. Our speakers, Dr. Carol Curchoe from the San Diego Fertility Center, has worked as a consultant and advised on S10 grant writing, and Dr. Michael Freitas, who is the Proteomics Shared Resource Director at The Ohio State University, has submitted multiple successful instrumentation grants and sat on the study section of many others. Come to this session to learn what differentiates a winning grant amongst a bunch of winning grants! There will be time to discuss specific questions you have about your own submission!
